Tampa Bay fishing report

Steve Brooks with a monster black drum caught inside Tampa Bay

I'm fishing way up inside Tampa Bay right now which is not my usual stomping grounds. We're fishing around the bays bridges for pompano and black drum. The pompano are a geat eating fish with nice white flaky filets. The black drum are bull dog that live in the pilings. They're not all that picky and will definatley give you a run for the money on tarpon gear.

We're also fishing some of the bridges for snapper, spanish mackerel, and jack crevalle. The bait has been tough to keep alive with the redtide so we've been using a lot of artificial bait with the occasional live bait if we can keep it in the livewell. Tight lines!
