Tampa Bay area report

Report Date: February 3, 2005

Another nice sheephead for the pan.

Sheephead are still the top story right now with many keeper fish being taken every trip. A trip yesterday yielded plenty of keeper sized fish with only a couple being under sized. The bite was non-stop and we only stopped at 2 structures. Taking the time to properly tie rigs and present baits in the right areas kept action consistent. Trout fishing on the lower tide stages on the flats has yielded nice keeper trout on each trip. Patience and persistence has paid off by searching through every pothole for fish. One hole may have nothing and the next loaded. That's pothole fishing! Spring is approaching fast. It won't be long until we're loading livewells for some unbelievable days on the water. Don't be left out. Tight lines!
