Tampa fishing

Report Date: January 25, 2009

Still plugin' along here thru the winter low tides fishing Tampa and St. Petersburg areas for redfish, trout, snook (on the warm days) and the sheepshead. The sheepshead have been all over this year in good numbers around the deep water structures like the Skyway bridge and approaches. We're fishing for some grouper in the same areas with most catches being too small to keep but still fun to strecth a line. The black drum have also been in the canals with the snook and most have been ranging from 5 to 10 lbs. on average.

Spring time Tampa Bay fishing is just around the corner. Don't forget to put new line on them reels and do the yearly maintenance on your tackle and boat.

Tight lines!
